MUSINGS – September 17 2017

Mark 1:29-34
,”After they left the synagogue, they went directly to the house of Simon and Andrew. James and John went with them. Simon’s mother-in-law was in bed with a fever. The first thing they did was to tell Jesus about her. Jesus went to her, took her hand, and helped her get up. The fever went away, and she prepared a meal for them. In the evening, when the sun had set, people brought to him everyone who was sick and those possessed by demons. The whole city had gathered at his door. He cured many who were sick with various diseases and forced many demons out of people. However, he would not allow the demons to speak. After all, they knew who he was.”

“The first thing they did was tell Jesus.” Now don’t misunderstand what I’m about to say. I think sometimes we lose a miracle because the first thing we do now days is dial 911.

I’m certainly not against medical intervention, it has saved my life in the past. And I also believe God can use the hands of nurses and doctors to heal the sick.

It is the order of priorities that I’m talking about. In Matthew 22:37
Jesus said, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ I believe we can safely substitute the word trust in place of love in this scripture without losing the deeper intended meanin

Who are you going to call when things go wrong? Let me ask that more correctly, in what order will you make those calls?
