2 Timothy 3:14-17
“However, continue in what you have learned and found to be true. You know who your teachers were. From infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures. They have the power to give you wisdom so that you can be saved through faith in Christ Jesus. Every Scripture passage is inspired by God. All of them are useful for teaching, pointing out errors, correcting people, and training them for a life that has God’s approval. They equip God’s servants so that they are completely prepared to do good things.”
Not all of us have known the holy scriptures since we were babies. If you have, count it as a blessing. Perhaps you began reading the scriptures as a youth, young adult, middle age, later in life, or perhaps you have yet to delve into the scriptures.
I suggest that you find a reading plan to read the bible through in a year. Then find studies on the gospels, epistles (letters), psalms, proverbs, and other parts of the holy book.
Study The scriptures as though studying for the final exam. You are! But this is not a book of dry meaningless facts. So, as you read, constantly be asking, what does this mean to me?
God, Creater and Sustainer, we thank you for those who have recorded your words for us. As we read and seek to understand, by your Holy Spirit guide us into ever deepening understanding of your personal plan for our lives. Amen.
