I Don’t Need to Know

Matthew 6:31-34

“Don’t ever worry and say, ‘What are we going to eat?’ or ‘What are we going to drink?’ or ‘What are we going to wear?’  Everyone is concerned about these things, and your heavenly Father certainly knows you need all of them. But first, be concerned about his kingdom and what has his approval. Then all these things will be provided for you. “So don’t ever worry about tomorrow. After all, tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

I was reading a blog today where the author was speaking about things learned as a student in various countries. In the middle of his story I found a gem of wisdom. “Sometimes you don’t need to know the plan to function.”

It occurred to me that that statement is exceptionally true in our walk with God. Jeremiah 29:11 I know the plans that I have for you, declares the LORD. They are plans for peace and not disaster, plans to give you a future filled with hope. Though they was said by God to the nation of Israel, I believe it to be true to all who follow God.

Lord, as the hymn writer wrote, “Lord I want to be a Christian in my heart in my heart.” Though I desire to have the while journey mapped out and explained, I realize that it is unnecessary for me to know more than the next step pin the road. Thank you for your guidance.
