Mark 11:22-24 22. Jesus answered, “Have faith in God. 23. The truth is, you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, mountain, fall into the sea.’ And if you have no doubts in your mind and believe that what you say will happen, then God will do it for you. 24. So I tell you to ask for what you want in prayer. And if you believe that you have received those things, then they will be yours. Do you REALLY want that mountain moved? I am living in the Texas hill country and, though they may not be classed as mountains, there are some big hills of solid granite. Do I want them to be moved? Nope. I do, however, have mountains in my life. Because of age and health issues, my wife and I are in the category least able to survive this nasty COVID-19 virus pandemic. It is disrupting normal daily life through out the world. Even before THIS health threat came along, our health was a mountain to us. We continue to pray that this mountain of health issues will be moved. We pray, believing. At the same time, we actively do our part to move the mountain. We follow medical advise ends have regular checkups to monitor or health. We take the prescribed medications along with a range of supplements and over the counter meds. And, at this time, we are self quarantined because of the pandemic. We are doing all we can, including prayer, to moved the mountain. Read your bible. It is full of times the God moved “mountains”. In most cases, he used human agents to accomplish his goals. Oh, and about those hilks of granite, they are being carved into countertops, flooring, decorative columns and thousands of other items by people who saw those hills and began to move them one piece at a time. So, whatever your mountain may be, pray without ceasing and pick up your shovel and get to work. Prayer Thank you, Lord, that you have not given us a spirit of fear but but of peace. We have mountains in our lives that we ask you to remove by your mighty hand. And we have our shovels in hand, show us where to begin. Amen.
